Biography

Dominique Laura Willis is a classically educated modern and ballet dancer, choreographer, and educator whose career spans more than fifteen years across the United States, Bermuda, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Mexico. She has performed with renowned companies including Wonderbound Ballet Theater, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, Bodiography Contemporary Ballet, and Gaspard & Dancers. Her international touring credits include appearances at the American Dance Festival in North Carolina, the Dance & Arts Festival in Pietrasanta, Italy, and the Dzul Festival in Campeche, Mexico.

As a choreographer, Dominique is committed to a practice that is movement-based, research-driven, and socially engaged. Her works emerge from dialogue, scholarship, and lived experience, addressing pressing social themes while celebrating the expressive power of the human body. She has created original works for New Ballet Ensemble, Denver School of the Arts, University of North Carolina Charlotte, and Bermuda Civic Ballet, with projects exploring issues such as the influence of technology, the impacts of violence, and collective resilience.

A dedicated educator, Dominique has extensive experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. She has served as a guest artist and teacher for institutions including Denver School of the Arts, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Academy, Bermuda Civic Ballet, and Charlotte Ballet Academy. Her teaching philosophy—that “dance is for every Body”—reflects her anatomical approach to technique, helping students develop confidence, creativity, and ownership of their unique movement capabilities. She has taught K–12, university, adult, and senior populations, creating inclusive learning environments that foster artistic growth and community connection.

Currently based in Denver, Colorado, Dominique continues to perform, teach, and choreograph. Her recent projects include commissioned works for New Ballet Ensemble and Denver School of the Arts, where she brings her distinctive blend of artistry, research, and social engagement to inspire new generations of dancers. Through performance, choreography, and education, she remains committed to bridging cultural experiences and highlighting the power of dance as a vehicle for dialogue, resilience, and shared humanity.

Performance Experience

Throughout her performance career, Dominique has interpreted works by some of the most respected voices in contemporary dance. Her repertoire includes pieces by Garrett Ammon, Cleo Parker Robinson, Milton Myers, Pascal Rioult, Duane Cyrus, Christian Von Howard, Gaspard Louis, Stacey Tookie, Martha Graham, Robert Battle, and Kevin Iega Jeff.

She has also performed principal roles in classical ballets including Romeo & Juliet, Coppelia, Alice in Wonderland, The Nutcracker, and The Wizard of Oz.
